Exporting CAD to Illustrator while retaining the set "visual style"

Hi,

I have a 3D building drawing in CAD (axonometric) that I would want to export to Adobe Illustrator while retaining the visual style (in this case, the "conceptual style" which highlights different elements in different colors). As soon as I export it to Illustrator like I usually do, the drawing becomes 2D wireframe and practically illegible.

I have tried exporting it as a PDF, dxf, dwg but it always ends up wireframe.

Also, the CAD drawing was originally exported from REVIT, in case that is relevant.
