Exporting a DWG design to PDF

When I export a drawing to a PDF some of the text and some other, seemingly random, lines print to the PDF much lighter in color than anything else in the drawing. I want everything to print black. I have tried changing all the layers to black, but the text will still appear much lighter in color than other objects in the drawing. I need the text to print dark as well.

Hi @Anonymous,

Can you describe how you are creating the PDF and from which version of AutoCAD? Could perhaps also attach a sample file along with your plot styles so i can try to duplicate on my side?

I export the  PDF through the drop down menu. So big "A" > Export > PDF. I have 2017 and I attached the drawing.

Hi @Anonymous,

I ran Audit on your file and it found a lot errors. I would start using Audit and Purge frequently as part of your drawing process.

In your plot window do you have Plot Object Lineweight selected?

Many of your objects have lightweights assigned to them. You might consider setting your layer lightweights to default as well as the lightweights in your objects.

I copied all of the objects and pasted into a new drawing file. Then, I produced a PDF and it looks "normal" to me.

I am not familiar with Audit and Purge. I do have plot object lineweights selected. I will look at the lineweights, I get most of my files emailed to me from another company and I haven't had a problem with their lightweight selection before this.

Hi @Anonymous,

Here is some information on AUDIT and PURGE

These are commands that you should consider using on a frequent basis to keep your drawings clean.
