EXCEL DATALINK issue

Hi All,

Im quite frustrated and cant figure out what is going on with these. I started using them about a month ago and loved them, but now its cost me about a day trying to fix the issue and I cant figure it out:

1. File has about 20+ tables all working fine. I then changed how I was presenting my data in excel. I adjusted the files. the first excel file I changed worked fine. The rest wont work. I go to table and try to load it, but clicking the OK button does nothing and the table wont even preview.

2. I tried deleting the datalinks and starting over. they wont delete.

3. I opened a new drawing and started the datalink, loaded the table and it worked perfectly fine. I know that the issue is probably simple, but I cannot figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I love these datalinks and I dont want to switch back to coping the excel file and pasting it into the drawing, I just dont love the way that looks.

Sorry, you're not giving enough info. You didn't explain what 'adjusted the files' means. Did you add rows? Did you add columns? You added both? Did you merge cells in excel? The more detail you provide regarding your adjustments, the clearer the solution will become.

You're correct, the issue is probably simple, but the simple solution can't be reached uless you provide full disclosure.

What does "wont work" mean to the rest of us?

And...what's that exactly?

What exact detailed method did you use? you did not say.

SAVEAS, replace the other file, and move on is a valid option if that helps you get back to meet a deadline.
