Why cant I use Excel tables like in windows?

Where I work, people use windows pcs and I cant see their tables, only a blank space instead.

Every year I expect Autodesk to do something about it, but it never heapens.

Also, there's no dataextraction command in Mac version.. _._

ARe the tables using OLE? Is that technology supported under Mac?

Are the tables referring to a file somewhere on the network? Does Mac and PC resolve that path the same way?
