Error with DXFIN

I am trying to import linework that was originally created in GIS and keep getting this error.

The following error was encountered while reading
in MTEXT starting at line 542712:
Xdata wasn't read
Invalid or incomplete DXF input -- drawing discarded.

I have had no issues bringing other .dxf files from the same consultant, its just this one giving me trouble.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

"Any help would be greatly appreciated! "

Where is the file, so we can check the problem to help you?

may end up with same result but have you tried OPEN command and then changing the filetype to DXF and then select the DXF file to open?

...or ask the consultant for a replacement DXF.

Oddly enough, when I try to upload the file I keep getting this error - "

Correct the highlighted errors and try again.

  • The attachment's natural_area_linework.dxf content type (application/x-dxf) does not match its file extension and has been removed.

Use WinZIP and attach the *.zip file.

The File format (dxf2000) doesn't match the file content, or  better

the file content isn't compatible to the dxf2000 Format.

The file contains objects with truecolor, but truecolors started with in file version 2004.

Qgis isn't using a AutoDESK DXF interface and the resultat DXF is invalid.

To solve the problem in Qgis program:  Ask QGis support-team, they should to correct the problem

(is an open source project, right?)

To solve the problem on  your side: Can you choose the file-format?

If so, select a DXF format 2004 or newer!

Or if you can control the colors: Don't use TrueColors (in dxf2000, truecolors are not available)

Be so nice (for othe qgis user):

Which one works?

Explain the steps or the steps you have to avoid  it for others!
