ERROR in DeepCloneXlation:eWasErased

Hi There

I tried to copyclip some 2d items from one project to anoyher and the above error came up.

I have seen lots of posts about it but no solution. Can anyone help explain how i can fix this. I am using AutoCAD 2015

Can you just drag and drop from one dwg to the other?
