Error Code : 0xc0000142 (Have applied all the solutions given by Autodesk

Hey!

I've recently installed Autocad 2016 on my PC. This worked fine but when I launched the Autocad application, it gave me the error code : 0xc0000142. I searched the issue online and found this page - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/The-ap....

I applied its solutions one by one - edited the registry, looked for 3rd party apps like SearchProtect, Smartbar and others. I don't have an NVIDIA graphics card, rather an AMD Radeon one. I reinstalled all the Microsoft Visual C++ modules (from 2005 to 2015).

Then, I tried Advanced System Care (a 3rd party app) to scan registry errors, and this thing did start Autocad. But, when I uninstalled this app, and restarted my PC, the error was back. I again installed this app but this time it didn't help.

Apart from these, I also tried using NETGATE registry cleaner, Total System Care and DLL-files fixer, but none of these worked.

I don't get it, why the problem persists. Friends, please help me with this.

Thanks!

look to >>>that post<<< from @TravisNave and follow the link he provided, this points to a blog and the description how to use AutoRuns to find the source of the problem(s).

Good luck, - alfred -

Thanks Alfred, but the solution didn't work.

Also, I had applied this solution before.

Still, can't find the issue.

Hey!

I also tried Process Monitor mentioned in the link you gave me - http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2014/03/autocad-2015-application-error-0xc0000142-autorun...

It does show me some problems. I've attached a compressed file "TEST". Could you please have a look at the acad.exe files, as in, what I have to do next!

Again,

Thanks!

Hi,

there are so many items in the log I don't know like MaxxAudio app or AssistentServices.exe from "airtel 3D" which I think are not necessary to run AutoCAD and so might be disabled (at least for a test period).Especially the first one is massivly invoked after you started AutoCAD (imho without needed to run AutoCAD)

But that's just guessing and nothing else.

HI @Anonymous,

Have you tried an Uninstall and then a re-install?  Here is an AKN Article that details what you are seeing.

I would pay special attention to all the add-ons and programs that you have installed since you originally installed AutoCAD. Please also be careful about all those utility programs you are running. It often isn't obvious what they are doing in the background and in my experience frequently can make things worse.

You can also try a Diagnostic Startup using MSCONFIG

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question.

Hey John!

Thanks, the solution worked. The error is in one of the services. I haven't figured that out yet, but I'll soon do. Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for the help. I tried disabling some services through msconfig, and Autocad finally started running. Thanks.
