Entering length via keyboard stops cursor moving

Morning all,

I have a problem that has just appeared on AutoCAD that I can figure out what I have changed to make it happen.

Usual function example: When creating a line i click first point then type in line length and point cursor in the direction that i want to draw hit enter and it draws the line, after typing in the length but before hitting enter i can move the cursor/crosshair and direction of the line.

New function (problem): When creating a line i click first point then type in line length the line will draw in what ever direction the cursor was pointing at the time i started typing, to "release" the cursor i need to left click first or pan the screen. I can still move the cursor about the screen when this happens but the crosshairs are frozen.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated as it is driving me mad having to ensure im in the right direction before typing.

I have never worked with dynamic input turned on and its still showing as off. I feel like i have changed a system variable or used a hot key by accident to change something.

Thanks,

Shaun
