enhanced attribute editor dialog box size

Hello,

I've seen this asked in the past twice now with no conclusion. Can we change the size of the dialog box? I'm tired of scrolling.

Using ACAD 2014

Thanks, Mike

Does it not change size when you move your pointer to a corner and click/drag when the cursor changes to a re-size arrow?

Hi @Anonymous,

I don't recall in AutoCAD 2014 if stretching was possible but in newer products it can be made larger.  I have 2016 installed and that function is available.

Sorry Guys n Gals,

Forgot we have to be specific. Yes, of course I can resize by drag. I want the default open window size to be larger so I don't have to manual drag. I've got of 1000 dwgs to make a change on (not typical - I can't run a script). There is enough room on my screen for the default dialog box size to be 4 times the size it is. I don't have the time to see what .lsp the command is calling and if I can modify it.

When I stretch mine and hit ok, the next time I open it, it retains the size I stretched it too. I did read something about if you have 2 monitors try resizing it on the other monitor and hitting ok to get it to stick, but I could get it to retain the size on either of my monitors. This was in 2017 though as I didn't have 2014 to test it.

I don't know a way to save the size of the dialog and make it default.

But as long as you don't quit/restart AutoCAD the dialog starts with exact that size you have pressed OK previously.

Hi,

Wouldn't be the faster option to place your property window in a free space on any of your monitors, select the block-insertion (or multiple) and edit the values in the property window.

Advantages ... you don't need to start a command, + you can edit multiple block-insertions in one step if they should get the same attributes filled with the same value.

Thanks fellas,

Everytime I click on a attributed block it's at default. Even in the same .dwg without closing. I'm in controls. These are automotive schematics (title blocks from F__d). The new routines are .arx's. Without the source code I can't modify anything. Think I'm going to head over to CADTUTOR or .LSP side of autodesk and see if some can get their hands in the attedit when it was still a modifiable .lsp and see if they can modify it so I can just load a new routine with acad and use that via a new quick command. As usual I just don't have the time. Hot job..... If I find a way around it - I'll come back up and post for future searches. Thanks!!

Hi,

sorry to bother you, but have you even read my suggestion using the property window? ... not need to use the enhanced attribute editor at all!

Or did I misunderstand anything?

Sorry Alfred,

Us 2d controls guys doing schematics don't get into all the goodies offered. Everything we do is in model space. I'd need ya to walk me through it and didn't want to be a dumba__ and ask this before trying it myself. Was wait till lunch.

Got it, Alfred. That will work!!!! Still wish I could modify the default box. But I am on multiple monitors. So I can park the property screen next to the ACAD monitor. Thank the Lord it comes up automatically on the new drawing. Thanks you so much, Sir!!!!

And that thought ur having right now about me mentioning Model Space..... Don't go there - or I'll get you..... Baaaaaaaaa!!!!

I found this. <click>  It's about preserving location, but also mentions size in the last paragraph. Maybe your issue of it not sticking is related to the graphics driver overriding it.
