Enabling 3d view in Autocad 2014/2015

I'm currently running AutoCad 2014 on one computer and Autocad 2015 on another for work.

As far as I'm aware, the set up on both computers is default.

The problem is I'm working on a drawing that would be substantially more beneficial if I could look at it from a more 3-dimentional view, rather than a 2D view.

I've tried rummaging around looking for a 3D setting or button, but have yet to find anything.  I've tried following a few videos on YouTube, but thus far, none have been much help.

Now I've talked to a few friends in the industry and they tell me they have the identical version of AutoCad and they have this 3D option.  So I'm assuming the option/button is hidden in a menu or something of that nature.

Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.  I have no problem re-installing the program if need be.  Though the last time I re-installed it, the option did not turn up as far as I could see.

1. Start a new project, and select your template as acad3D.dwt

2. Don't use 2D wireframe, change it as seen in the image provided.

This did help, it set up the 3D for me.

But is there a way to access this in drawings I've previously made in AutoCad or will I need to do this for all future drawings I wish to be 3D?

I don't mind re-doing the projects from step one, but I'd much rather be able to "convert" them and make them 3D from there.

There is no convert 2d to 3d, it requires many steps such as loft, extrude, presspull.........

@Anonymous Yes, I recommend you do research in 'AutoCAD Profile Settings' or 'Setup New Workspace'. Look into workspace settings first.
