elliptical heads

I am trying to drawing a 3D elliptical head.  I create the outline using circles to create the 2D image.  When I go to REGION the object it tells me...0 loops extracted....0 regions created.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I can only imagine that your constructed approximation of an ellipse is not quite accurate -- ends don't meet, or something.  Is there some reason not to draw an Ellipse per se?

A sample drawing would be helpful.  I'd also like to know what an "elliptical head" is -- sounds just like [revealing my age here...] the Coneheads from Saturday Night Live back in the 1970's or early 1980's, whose heads were not truly cones, but more like ellipsoids of rotation about the major axis.  But seriously -- screw head?  oil rig well-head?

It is an elliptical head on a propane tank.  The same 2:1 head you see everyday on pressure vessels.
