DYNMODE not working

I am on Windows 7 using AutoCAD 2018. Regardless of whether DYNMODE is set to 2 or 3, my cursor still determines the direction an angle is measured clockwise or counterclockwise. For instance, using the LINE command, I can select any point, and when I choose the second point, I can either put in 90 or x<90. No matter what I input, if my cursor is by the command prompt at the bottom of the screen, 90 will input as 90 degrees from east to south, despite the fact that I want 90 to always mean north. I have already checked my UNITS command settings, and they are set so that 0 is east and 90 is north, the clockwise box is not checked, and I have not found any answers online that seem to fix my machine.

As an added note, I don't even have to get out of AutoCAD and come back in for this to happen, so it isn't a matter of DYNMODE resetting itself. If I do all of this in one session, I get the same issue, as if DYNMODE doesn't care that it is set to 2, which is does claim it is set to.

Try hitting the F12 key.

Or maybe the ucs is rotated (check with ucsicon).

Can you post the drawing to check it (I have to guess now).

DYNMODE resetting itself was fixed in one of the updates (or at least it was supposed to be fixed and appears to be fixed in most cases)

I'd recommend downloading the 2018.1.1 update from your account page and see if that resolves your issue.

Chriscowgill7373, DYNMODE is not resetting, it just doesn't seem to listen to what it is set to.

FDC, for me F12 does nothing different from clicking the icon to turn on DYNMODE. I haven't gotten a chance to check the ucs, but I don't think the problem is there.

What DYNMODE is doing is counting degrees from 0 to 180, and it determines clockwise or counterclockwise based on the position of my cursor. So if my cursor is above the point in question, it measures degrees counterclockwise, but if my cursor is below the point then it measures clockwise.

Theoretically, when DYNMODE is set to 2, it should ignore my cursor, but it isn't. Despite being set to 2, it is still listening to both the typed input and the position of my cursor, which tends to be by the command line when I'm typing, leading to the wrong measurement of angles.

In Drafting Settings, under the Dynamic Input tab, on Pointer Input settings, can you confirm that for second or next points, that it defaults to Absolute coordinates, not Relative?

can you record a screencast and share it so we can see what it is that you are seeing when you are inputting information?
