The two other programs are producing problematic DXF files perhaps: AutoCAD is very particular since Autodesk is the DXF format author.

Can you share your DXF file here for someone to review?

Hi,

Your file is ok, working well with AutoCAD, with Navisworks, Fusion360 and tested also with one alternative CAD system.

So it seems like the other packages do not support 3D-solids, you might ask which other file formats they support and you can try to export from AutoCAD in one of those formats.

Hi,

That is not a proof for anything.

DXF format is defined by Autodesk, every Autodesk program (as well as one AutoCAD compatible product I used to test too) was able to open your file well.

As Autodesk is the vendor of the DXF format, and the Autodesk products can read your DXF file without issues, why do you think that something is incorrect with the DXF?

Hi,

No, AutoCAD writes the DXF the same way as saving a DWG, just with another file format.

The only configuration you might change is the number of decimal places for coordinates/angles.

This message tells you all, the software that reads the DXF recognizes the 3D-Solid, but the import procedure does not support it. So ask the vendor of the other software

  • which alternatives to 3D-Solids are supported
  • which other import formats are supported

Then you can decide how to proceed.
