DXF export error with SCM cnc woodworking machine cad program called Maestro

Hi, all

I have been using Autocad 2018 version. I need to save my cad drawing in AutoCad 2013 DXF (*.dxf) file type. I had no problems doing this with the 2018 version. I have now downloaded the 2024 trial version. When a look for 20013 dxf file type there is no option to select this AutoCad 2013 (*.dxf). So my question is, is this no longer an options or can i change something in the settings?

Thanks, Luke

Show us where you are looking please: post a screenshot or two. It's there for all of us AutoCAD2024 users here  where it was in AutoCAD2013 too

It does not work with the ones shown. It only works with the file type -AutoCad 2013 DXF (*dxf)-. This is exactly the type i have been using in the 2018 version.

Thanks, Luke

Explain please: how does it "not work", how do you know "it doesn't work", walk us through your discovery about "it does not work" when you get a chance.

This IS the dxf2013 format, there are not varies of them.

The difference between 2018 and 2024 is

a) the program which saves the file, so it is possible that there is a difference (in theorie) and

b) saveas 2013 format from 2018 and 2024 is a downgrade, both programs trying to save all native stuff

     in a way what is 2013-compliant and re-readable in 2018 or 2024.

Tell us more about your target and where your issue pop up

Ok, i will try to explain it a little better. It does save it ok. I am importing this life into an SCM cnc woodworking machine. It's cad program is called Maestro and I thought it only wants this kind of file type. I just tried it using the -AutoCad 2010/LT2010 DXF (*dxf) file type with the AutoCad 2018 version and it does import the file ok. So I am not sure why it does not work with AutoCad 2024.

Thanks, Luke

the first photo shows how i saved it using AutoCad 2024 and the second shows what pops up in Maestro when I try to import it using this type of file

And why you tested dxf2010, saved by ACAD2018, instead of dxf2013? That confuses me.

what is with ACAD2024 saveas dxf2010 with THIS file?

EDIT: what is with ACAD2014 saveas dxf2013 with THIS file? already answered

All tests with the same sourcefile

I tested Autocad 2010 just to see if if works and it does. I know it works with using Autocad 2018 and 2013 dxf file format. I don't get your second question. No they are not the same source file I am making different files for autocad 2018 and 2024. The file type must not be the issue then, I will check things over on the maestro end and go from there.

Thanks for you time and responses

Got it: the problem is your other program, which was not upgraded, cannot read content from newer AutoCAD versions. Sadly, we can't help you there with that custom unique error. Try Maestro Support : curious why you don't open this to find out what that might mean and share it here
