DWG to PDF not working

When I plot to PDF, I have always gone windowed/center plot, and 1:1 scale, however now it doesn't work correctly.

The project I am currently working on is 9.080x7.125 and if I try it in a 8.5x11 (portrait) it doesn't fit on the page, like not even close. I then rotated the project and put it in a landscape format, and while it then appears to fit, it actually comes out scaled. If I use Layout, it comes out extremely scaled.

I really don't understand why it has worked before. Please help. Thanks.

Hi @ss454_ls6,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

I see that you are having problems with scaling when plotting with the DWG to PDF driver.  Can you share your file? If possible you could also include your plot style. I would like to see what you are experiencing in order to offer suggestions to resolve the issue for you.

So you don't use paperspace?
If it doesn't fit, what scale are you plotting to? 99% that is the issue.

I've uploaded the dwg and the pdf file in the version that scaled from selecting landscape.

I don't know what paperspace is. I'm selecting no scaling at all. Keeping everything at 1:1

However it auto scales for some reason. A 9x7 model should easily fit on a 8.5x11 paper, portrait or landscape.

Hi @ss454_ls6,

I made a short video for you that might help.

First I open your drawing and verify that the lines you have drawn are approx. 8x9.

Then I click on the tab at the bottom labeled Layout 1.

On it I have created a viewport on a non-plotting layer. This acts like a window to see into modelspace.

If I double click in this viewport (frame) I am put into modelspace.

I can zoom and pan as well as many other editing functions.

When I am in the model through this viewport, I go to the scalelist at the bottom right of the screen and select 1:1

I then also created a Page setup to configure how I want to plot this layout.

You can see how I picked letter size and a scale of 1:1

I have attached this file for you to examine. Please let me know if you have additional questions regarding this process.

Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.

I'm so impressed you were able to make a video so quickly. I looked through it and most of it brand new to me, so bare with me as I get the time to put the instructions into practice myself. Thanks
