DWG to PDF color change

Hello, i'm using autocad 2018.

When i print to pdf and the green lines in the pdf are brighter (not so dark).  The green color change from the preview to the pdf. I) tried to use like green, the color book likefor exemple DIC 250 , and everything all right but when i come back to use the index color the same thing.

I print with check: - Plot object lineweights  - Plot trasparency  - Plot paper space last.  I tried to uncheck the last two but isn't the same green.

Seems that the problem is with all other index colors, because i tried other colors..

In the files attached, the color that change more is the green, but i tried other color and it's the same.

It's really strange

Sorry for my english

please some help..

Hi,

>> but when i come back to use the index color the same thing
Are you using a CTB or STB file? If so, change that to nothing in the plot-dialog.

Hi,

i think i'm using ctb file because in the plot style table there are only ctb styles.

i tried to put on "none" but the result it's the same.

So if i work with layer and thikness on any layer i must use onlu stb file to have the right result between autocad and pdf?

i see now in youtube that there is a command "convertpstyles" and when i go to select the stb file auto cad tells me "acad.stb  does not contain a color mapping table and cannot be usedto convert drawings. select a different named plot styles"  i tried to select the other 3 stb file in the folder that gave me , but it's the same message.

Can you upload a DWG-file as well as a PDF-file you get from your plot command/-settings? ... just to see if we can reproduce that behavior.

Of course thank you.

Olso i tried to open stb (named plot file)  and use the same 92 green color and itìs the same thing, it's a lighter green.

If i use the book color, seems work fine, but with the index color don't.

Hi,

I can see the difference between the green on the layout (in AutoCAD) and the green in PDF, however I have no idea for now what makes up the difference ...

Maybe someone else has an idea or the time gives me some inspiration ... 😉

Sorry for now, - alfred -

Definitely not, because I have the same behavior on my system.

You're right...  maybe my autocad is corrupted.. i don't know, and maybe generate corrupted files.....

can you try with your autocad with the same color on a ctb new file.. i alwayse use them with my layer work... (and i put "none" to the plot style)

Hi,

>> maybe my autocad is corrupted

No, it is not.

I have created (AutoCAD 2019.1.2) a new dwg-file, created one polyline with color 92 and in creates a much lighter green in the PDF. So it's nothing specific to your system.

it's really strange...  i tried with a lot more color and when open in adobe acrobat a lot of the colors are not the same... Maybe is a limit this of autocad (hope there is a reason) .....maybe because i'm using adobe acrobat and this program read the color in different way..?!  maybe if i print the file,  the colors are fine ( i didn't tried because i don't have a big printer).

Please post some more color numbers for us, thx.

The Problem is NOT the pdf or plot result, the problem is on editors side if the backgroundcolor is not set to black.

Use background black for a test. Options/Display/Colors..

" the background in the model space. "

nice, but you misunderstood.

You set your modelspace background to black, ok (so the color displays there well),

but your screenshot is from layout-tab and there is your background color not black,

it is white or near to.

😉

As i wrote..

"the problem is on editors side if the backgroundcolor is not set to black.

Use background black for a test. Options/Display/Colors.."

with the black background in the plot preview seem the colors are the same but maybe is a visual effect because of the black background. I put olso the background to black in the layout space but it's the same thing.

SORRY for tha late edit:

borissss..

Your "first" screenshot shows the paperspace.................with NON-BLACK-BACKGROUND!

and for the third time: As i wrote..

"the problem is on editors side if the backgroundcolor is not set to black.

Use background black for a test. Options/Display/Colors.."

I don't know why and we can not change it,

but i can you explain how you get the right color displaying on screen and when not.

Only with a black background..

In your next answer, write:

@ john.vellek

But without a blank after the @, he is from Autodesk and perhaps he has answers (but no solution in this case).

I can not see the properties of your sample file (easy to share with us),

but the background color for model, paperspace and plot preview are reachable via

Options display colors.

And alle three displays the color well (only?) if the background is set to black.

But that knowledge change nothing.. or do you want to work with all backgrounds are set to black?

I am out.
