Drawing Tabs & Hover Feature

I've tried multiple searches and have turned both FILETABPREVIEW and FILETABTHUMBHOVER to =0, but is there any command to do away with the hover feature period? Or at least give the option to delay the hover to 5 seconds? I have some drawings with 25+ layouts and when you have that many layouts, the hover "feature" projects this drop-down up into the toolbar, covering the drawing tab. Often, I will want to close a drawing and when I am about to click the (X) on the drawing tab, this drop-down will pop up and I will end up switching to whatever sheet pops up in the drop-down instead of closing the drawing tab. See how C0.1 is highlighted in the screen shot? My mouse was hovering the (X) getting ready to close the drawing, now when I click, instead of closing that tab, it takes me to the C0.1 layout.

No off switch, no delay. You gotta change your workflow. Either use the close button in upper right corner of the canvas, or, possibly right click on a tab and close it

Start using SSM to better organize your many many layouts: the better built-in solution from Autodesk in AutoCAD.

@ВeekeeCZ Topic is not about FILETAB I believe, just layouts.

@JoshSKGE ,

Hovering over the X on newer version will show the FileTabPreview, it did not on older version.

Just have to be quicker on clicking the X 🙂

Consider sending your Feedback to Autodesk:

I don't understand your reply. I know how the hover function works. I am asking if there is a way to prevent it from blocking one of the most important commands a drawing can have. Tabs are part of almost every software UI that I use these days (Windows, Revit, Revu, etc...) and I love that AutoCAD added them, but I don't understand why this drop-down has to be part of the tab feature. With the option to dock Layout Tabs above the status bar and the addition of this little dude:

I already have 2 ways to access all of my Layouts. I don't need a third, more annoying way, which blocks critical commands.

What I mean is this was not an issue on previous version.  Hovering over the drawing tab X did not display a preview (unless you hovered over the word drawing) - it does in the newer versions.  This is something Autodesk has to fix to avoid your issue.

Use FIELTABCLOSE, or toggle it off; and use your Layout and Model tabs at the bottom:

You cannot then. Sorry. The program is not designed for you to do that.

if you can, move the content that is getting covered up instead. CUI command if that is at all movable.

Just an observation: This menu has a built-in maximum of 32 rows, and then it scrolls. So, it's probably just a laptop issue...  it simply does not offer enough vertical space.
