Drawing Lines to Scale with Viewbase on Paperspace

Hello

We are projecting views from our model space onto paper space using ViewBase and ViewSection.

After the 2D views are projected onto paperspace we always have to add a few lines/parts not on the model.

The views are projected usually in 1"=1' so if I draw a line on paperspace .75 it obviously is much bigger than my

.75 plywood on the projected 2D View. The only 2 ways I could figure out to draw the correct line sizes with ease

is to divide .75 / 12, which will draw a line the correct size, OR scale the view to '12' draw the lines I need and re-scale

the view back to 1.

I assume that there must be a way to automate the line lengths to correlate with the scale the view is in, so that

there is no re-scaling or math to do to get the correct size lines??

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I should add that scaling the model up, then re-scaling down doesn't actually solve my problem. Reason being when you re-scale the view in the drawing the lines don't re-scale with the view. Problem with dividing the sizes I need by 12 to get the correct length size in 1"=1' is I can't really do that everytime I need to draw or offset a line. Please give me your best advice!!

Can't believe not one person on here had a response for this. I will share the solution I discovered.

Note: We submit our drawings in Arch D.

-Go to Page Setup and click on the sheet you want to change.

-Under 'Scale' change the dropdown from 1:1 to 1"=1'0", this should automatically change the dropdown

underneath to 1 inches = 12 Units.

-Click Ok.

You will notice your paper size will become huge, and that is Ok.

Change the scale of your Viewbase and ViewSections to 1'-0"=1'-0"

Now you are drawing in real scale, and all your models are in real scale

like you are drawing in Model Space. So if you draw a .75" line, it is going to be the same size

as your .75" thick piece of plywood in your Viewbase.

Plot the paper space.

In this instance we were working in ARCH D.

Print the layout and your Viewports will all be scaled in 1"=1'00 even though

the Viewbases are scaled to 1'0=1'0.

Just measured the drawings printing and everything is perfectly to scale.
