Drawing Line Problem

Drawing Line Problem

This issue just started today. Try to draw a line.

 

It is drawing above where I click my mouse by a couple of inches depending.

I have uninstalled and then re-installed AutoCAD, it worked temporarily and then started acting up again.

 

I also have CADWorx plant installed.

Can you attach a drawing or attach some screen shots of what you are describing?

 

Also,  which version of AutoCAd are you using? If you remove CADWorx temporarily do you still have the problem?

Hi,

 

does the same happen when you disable hardware acceleration (command _GRAPHICSCONFIG)?

Does that only happen with object snap on, but not when object snap is off?

Does that only happen in one specific drawing or with every (also new) drawing(s)?

Here is a screen shot of what's happening. My cross hairs are one place and it draws the line at another. I can make it work if I turn on Dynamic Input but I hate that. Any thoughts?

Hi @Anonymous,

 

A big question for me is if this behavior is still present without the CADWorx installed. I don't think we want to chase this issue if it isn't something we can fix.  Please remove the CADWorx  and turn off Hardware Acceleration and Smooth Line in GRAPHICSCONFIG to see if the behavior persists.

 

Please also tell me about your Workstation hardware, OS as well as AutoCAD (type about at the command line)

I uninstalled Cadworx and the problem is still there. It is a clean new dwg. Our machines have 12GB of memory 3.07GHz processor running windows 7. The hardware accelerator is disabled and smooth line turned off.

Thanks for the update.

 

Please tell me if you have applied service packs and all the updates for your OS.

 

Also, what is your video card and driver version?

 

Which version of AutoCAD are using and what hotfixes and service packs have been applied?

 

It sounds like this is happening on more than one workstation. Let's try to isolate the problem on just one of them so we don't slow down everything :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

 

What happens if you Reset Settings to Default?

Nothing strange I can see in the screenshot. You have ORTHO turned on, that's it, so you see only the horizontal (or vertical) line.

Our company machines are set to auto update at night by our IT folks. I really don't know if we have the latest. Our video card is a NVIDA Quatro K4000 version 311.15UPDATES.JPG. I just updated my AutoCAD PRODUCT VERSION IS J.51.0.0. As far we know no hot fixes have been applied. I've reset AutoCAD to the default and nothing changes.

Hi @Anonymous,

I suggest that you check the drivers here on the Certified/recommended wizard.

 

 

I would strongly urge you to also apply hotfixes and service packs from here.

 

Also, @Alfred.NESWADBA mentioned that this could be as simple as turning off the Ortho mode :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

 

Is this causing the behavior you are seeing? (so hard to tell from a static picture)

Hey John after installing the updates and hot fixes it seems to have fixed the problem. I'm going to re-install Cadworx and test it out. Thank you for all your help and information.
