Drawing has command in progress - can't do anything

I was deleting an action from a dynamic block, now I have an error and can't seem to recover.  It keeps saying that the drawing has a command in progress.  If I type anything into the command line, it autocorrects it to retry.

I've tried commands I saw in the forum like AUDIT, RECOVER, BCLOSE, ETC.  They all get changed to Retry and do nothing.

There are some more commands that other people have tried, such as SAVEALL, SAVE, and other things like disabling autosave, etc.

Have you read many of these?

Every command I typed in was autocorrected to RETRY, so no, no commands were working at all. I force closed the app with the task manager, and that took many attempts too, generated the same message, but I finally was able to shut down the app and recover.
