I am trying to copy a drawing  from one drawing to another but every time I do it falls apart, or explodes, i'm not sure of the best way to describe it.

hello, are you in paperspace? go to modelspace and paste it or it could the drawing you want to paste have the same block name> go to command promt type RENAMe and raname those blocks. and check if they are in the same UCS. and see if helps. thanks

Thanks, that might have been it, but it seemed like the blocks were losing their references or something. The original drawing had blocks inside block inside blocks.

In the mean time I just created a temporary copy of the drawing I was copying from and exploded everything, then I was able to copy and paste it into the drawing I was working on.
