hello,

i'm currently using the Autocad 2018, when i'm trying to render my drawings in 3d modelling, the rendered photo is just a blank black scene. i tried turning on and off the acceleration but it still doesn't work.

can you please help me? i searched up this problem but there's no solving answer.

below is the attached screen cap of the issue that i mentioned.

thanks!

Hi,

>> the rendered photo is just a blank black

That can happen if there is not enough light for the objects to get visible or the camera is too far away from the geometry. Sometimes it's a UNITS setting if a light has a distance of 300, user is thinking "Millimeter", but AutoCAD sees "Meter".

To have better informations about your special situation we would need the dwg-file, the screenshot does not give us any info about light, camera, units, render presets, ...

Hi,

That's not the fault of AutoCAD, it's >>>murphy<<<, he's sitting right behind you :cara_guiñando_un_ojo:

(I'll look to your file in a few minutes)

Hi,

well, first please start command _AUDIT, it shows (and hopfully repair) your drawing database.

Second ... you are having the units issue, looking to command _UNITS your drawing shows "Inch" as setting. Using command _DIST to measure the width of the entrance door it shows a distance of 1500 ... which means the door is 1500 Inches wide ... for cameras it means they are > 1000 Inches from the objects away.

What I did then:

  • moved your 3D-geometry more close to 0,0,0 (to get better render results)
  • selected then the lights and set the multiplier to 1000  (not sure why, but starting with the wrong units always has following issues)
  • and get this result for "Camera7"

Sorry, I forgot one point I did:

  • changed the UNITS to Millimeter (so it fits to the door width)
  • then also the light intensity scaling can stay at 1

Again drawing attached.

Hi,

I looked now to camera3 ... and moved it 100mm more into the room to get that result (before moving it the rendering was black), so the camera was inside an object (inside the door) and didn't see anything.

That is the result:

So as the room behind now seems visible, but the room from this camera is totally dark, I looked to the lights in that room, seeing:

20190611_210155.png

...the light is inside a geometry, this geometry has a material "lightning", that material is not transparent, so no light will pass to the visible area of the rendering!

I changed the light's Z-value (world-Z, not your UCS) from 3100 to 3000 ... started render and got this result:

So please take care for positions of camera and lights, both should not be placed inside 3D-solids!
