drawing different windows easily

Hi,

I am drawing a layout for an ordering of 130 windows for a renovation project. Almost each window has a different size, but the type of the window is the same (or  I have 3 different typologies). Is there some sort of algorithm based command on Autocad, where I can just draw the outline of the window (width and height), and Autocad automatically adjusts to each size the details within the window (frame widths etc)?

Thank you in advance,

Yannis

Hi,

>> ... and Autocad automatically adjusts to each size the details within the window (frame widths etc)

literally and as you said , the answer is NO . but you can make your window types as a blocks and start use them .

AutoCAD won't do it automatically for you, but you could create a dynamic block so that you can adjust each instance of the window as you need to on the fly.

You need to use parametric.para.png

I would draw in detail each of the three different types of windows.  Dimension them with a W and H and then create a table below each type.  Give each window a number or other reference on the plan or section views and then place dimensions for each one in the appropriate table.

Looks like a dynamic block situation is warranted.

If you need an example to go by, see the attached file.

It will get complicated when adding sashes and muntins.

Plan of attack:

Insert this dynamic block as a block (drag and drop from file manager).

BEDIT this block to access the dynamic block grips.

While in BEDIT, manually apply the final sash and muntin lines on top of the dynamic block.

Close the block editor.

Perhaps browse the dynamic block forum for additional hints?

And welcome to these forums.
