draw an ISO arc (elliptic)

Hello,

 

I have been trying to to draw an Isometric arc between North-South line (1) and a  line Down North-East (2)

 

The issue is how geometrically locate the point (a) ? which is the the tangent point between the ellipse and the line (2)

Why not draw a line from the center, perpendicular to line (2), or use the various Circle and Arc options from the Ribbon.?

Your ellipse looks like it represents a Circle in a vertical plane, rather than in the horizontal plane of your compass indication and your Line 2 if it's really headed northeast relative to the compass.  If that's correct, tangency between line 2 and the Ellipse is meaningless, because it's not in the plane of the Ellipse.  Should the Ellipse be in this orientation?

in which case the tangency point is just the top QUAdrant point of the Ellipse, or where the vertical Line [dashed red] from the center of the Ellipse hit the top.

ow did you geometrically trace those lines (see attached pointed by thearrows), not approximately.

Is this for homework or just fun learning? if for learning, skip the isometric and use 3d, that's what it made for.

Thanks for the correct answer, 

This is a work, I use 2D isometric drafting so I cant switch to 3D.

here is a screen shot of so you can see isometric cursor (pointed arrow in red)

that's in 2D but I use 2D Isometric. I have to use isometric elliptic arc or isometric ellipse.

fillet work on orthogonal drafting, so we offset parallels than we can draw an a 2D arc or circle.

but on ISO drafting we have to use iso ellipse .
