Draw a 'band" around a metal post in 3D

Hi all,

I am writing to find out how to wrap the purple band around a metal post in the 3D AutoCAD?

Note: It is not a continuous band.

Draw 2 helix loft, then slice it off.

The design has been modified to have the cyan band wrap around the post. Pls see snapshot for your reference. I do see the imperfect surface of cyan with purple lines within the cyan. Currently, the radius of the purple post is 40mm and the radius of the cyan curved band is 40.1mm. Have I done anything wrong?
I drew a vertical line and then use "sweep" command to generate the curved band by following the helix.

Try THICKEN command on the wrap, a minimal thickness will do.

Type in the command "FACETRES" and set it higher value like 5  or more to increase the smoothness of the object and see if that solves your problem 🙂

Another option is to maintain just the one object, but IMPRINT a new face that can be assigned a different color.
