I intalled AutoCad but I immediately realized it doesn't read the measurments I give it, so my lines, for example don't extend to measure what i type in

Hi,

>> for example don't extend to measure what i type in

Some questions:

  • Did you try this in a new drawing without any other geometry?
  • When you enter the distance, what exactly did you type in?
  • While you are entering the distance, where is your cursor positioned?

I'm sorry i'm not english and can't express myself correctly.
What i mean is that when I have to place a straight line for a perimeter,
for example, and click in one point, give the line a direction and try to
type in the length I want it to be, at that point it doesn't take the
command I gave it.
I hope it's a little more clear

Can you do a >>Screencast << of the steps you are taking?

Do you have dynamic input on or off? If you have it on it expects distance [tab] angle.

If you are using the command line it is <angle[enter]distance[enter] .

If you are trying to enter a length with feet and inches you need to change the length type with the UNITS command.  A dialog box will display, in the upper left you,I assume, will want to pick Architectural.  Now go back and try again.

After you enter the first line length, exit the line command.  Now Zoom Extents.  Do you see it now?

The "INSUNITS" command is a thought. I'm a command based user, so I can't point you into the ribbon based junction. Hopefully this helps!
