Dissociated dimensions and leaders

I have recently been frustrated while annotating my drawings. When I first place a dimension or leader, everything works properly. The problem arises when I want to modify the dimension or leader. If I wish my dimension to read off a different snap point, I click one of the grips and move it to the new point, and the dimension changes accordingly. However, the dimension has now become dissociated. To remedy this, I must click the yellow check box and confirm the two points I wish the dimension to read off.

 

The same thing happens with multileaders - if I click the arrow grip and relocate it to another snap point on the drawing, it becomes dissociated. 

I don't believe this used to occur although I am not 100% sure. But it is certainly annoying to have to confirm changes in this way twice. 

 

Is there a better method I can use, or a setting somewhere I can change to remedy this?

Hi,

 

Sorry, not a solution, but a confirmation.

Using AutoCAD 2018.0.2 I can reproduce this issue (and if my remembering is correct that already was mentioned here sometimes ago) ... and again sorry, I haven't find a simple way around (hopefully someone else find one).

FYI - Search in HELP in case you need.

1) system variable "dimassoc"

2) commands "dimdisassociate" and "dimreassociate".
