disappearing paperspace tab

In Autocad 2023 often when I go from Paper space to Model space I find I can't just pick the paper space tab to get the drawing back to the paper space view because it gets covered up on the status bar by the + new drawing tab.  I can click on new drawing and that makes it look normal but then I have to delete the new drawing page which I didn't need or I can just type pspace to get back to paper space but why is the Tab getting covered up?  Surely someone else has had this happen?

I don't have your issue in 2023.1.3 but I do have this right-click only unselected, do you

And my program window is fully maximized too on one of my screens

BTW, your ABOUT command also needs to show this, if not, you have an update missing that needs to be installed (restart your PC afterwards)

my about command shows 2023.1.3. just like yours and my desktop app doesn't have any more updates to 2023.  Also I had just switched the docking in line with status bar as you mentioned and same error occurs on each option.

@dave You can change spaces via keyboard commands if you need it : PS for paper & MS for model

I shouldn't have picked accept solution.  I was just agreeing with the command convenience.  But when you type in PS or MS while in modelspace you get the ** Command not allowed in Model Tab **

Docking the tabs in line with status bar or above the status bar make no difference. I can click on new drawing and that makes it look normal but then I have to delete the new drawing page which I didn't need.  And it seems to happen when I have multiple drawings open at the same time. Surely someone else has had this happen?  see attached snippets.  Snip 1 is abnormal,  Snip 2 is what it should appear like.

This could be a graphics issue.

Try setting GFXDX12 = 0.

(Enter GFXDX12 on the command line and answer the prompt with a zero.)

So uncheck it? I can do that for you too

I've always added a CTRL+T shortcut key to toggle TILEMODE which will toggle between the current layout and the Model tab. Handy if you have a lot of layouts as it remembers which layout to go back to. The shortcut Key macro is:

^C^C^P(ai_onoff "tilemode") Regen ^P

Name it Tilemode, use "Toggle between Model tab and previous layout." as the Description, and use CTRL+T for the Access Key which is easy to remember for Tilemode and isn't already being used. From version 2017 on there's a right click option on tabs to "Activate Model Tab" or "Activate Previous Layout" and the Model tab is always visible but using Ctrl+T is still much quicker.
