Dimensions not using selected layer

Anonymous
Not applicable

For some reason that I can't figure out, Autocad has started making all my dimensions using my "door layer" (yellow), even though my "dimensions" layer (magenta) is selected in the pull-down menu and in the layout settings.  I can, however, select the dimensions after I create them and set them to the correct layer.

This started in another project with multiple sheets yesterday.  I've since saved that file as a new file for a new project, which I'm attaching.

I was also experiencing what seemed to be some other bugs with hatching right before this issue started, so I'm not sure if there's a problem with my program or if it's a user error.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi @Anonymous,

As Imad points out in his post, there is a variable to set the dimension layer. In your drawing it is currently set to use the Door layer.  If you type DIMLAYER, and then enter a period (.), the dimension will end up on whatever the current layer is set to.
