I would like to know if there is  fast way that I can pull a dim and it will come out .5 from the two endpoints?

Hi,

QDIM or Dimlinear commands with proper dimension style settings. I mean you have to modify the extension lines   Offset from origin value from your current dimension style.

After I select my geometry, it ask me where to place the dim. I would rather it do an auto placement if possible.

QDIM command after you edit the DIMSTYLE: comes in handy if you preset your templates and custom dimstyles to do that in the first place.

You have to put the work in first in AutoCAD.

AutoCAD will always ask. AutoCAD didn't know if you want to put the dimension up,down, right, left from the origin object.
