Dimension text moved after file saved.

Hi Sir / Mam,

I am having facing this issue with AutoCAD 2016. (please see attachments)  The problem is whenever editing a dimension text which is too tight to fit between the dimension lines. After the file is saved and reopen, the text repositioned to its original place. This only happen to AutoCAD 2016, when I open the same file with AutoCAD 2014, everything is fine.  I have double checked and compared to make sure all setting in Dimension Style Manager between AutoCAD 2016 & 2014 are the same. As for Dimension Variables both DIMATFIT <3> & DIMTMOVE <0> are identical for AutoCAD 2016 & 2014. I am hoping you can help me out…..my last resource would be to uninstall AutoCAD 2016 but that means I will have to setup everything all over again.

Regards,

Song Zhang

Hi Szhang,

Analyzing your question, set the Dimension Style - FIT according to figure below.

Hi Renato,
Thanks for the quick respond, I actually had the same setting to start with as your have shown but this did not fix the problem. I believed it must got something to do with the variable systems.

hI szhang,

Good afternoon

Sorry but I'm using google translator.

Another way to help you is excutando the expression < > \ XBarrier

Command: DIMLINEAR

Specify first extension line origin or <select object>:
Specify second extension line origin: 390

Specify dimension line location or
[Mtext/Text/Angle/Horizontal/Vertical/Rotated]: T

Enter dimension text <390>: <>\XBARRIER

Specify dimension line location or
[Mtext/Text/Angle/Horizontal/Vertical/Rotated]:
Dimension text = 390

It is in the order I 'm putting down , because I think that will help. Imorme resolved !

Hi Renato,

The main concern is the text does not remain at where it was saved.

Hi @szhang,

This is unusal behavior as I don't think the dimension text once placed should move at all unless you change a text style, are missing the exact font in the style,  or modify the Dimstyle.

Is it possible to attach a sample file where this is happening so I can take a look?

Please also try  a Reset Settings to Default.

Hi @szhang,

I don't see any files attached. Try putting them in a Zip file and attaching that. I look forward to helping you with your issue.
