Dimension Text is not selectable for editing???

Hello

See the attached dwg file for an illustration of the problem.

The dimension Text is not selectable for editing.

Previous versions of cad would place the cursor in the text string and allow editing.

Thank you for your help.

I suggest to check DBLCLKEDIT (System Variable) .

Command: DBLCLKEDIT
Enter new value for DBLCLKEDIT <OFF>: on

You've set up a text suffix.  Those can't be edited in the dimension itself. Use measurement overrides instead.

Why such a large note in paper space?

When you see the dimension text highlighted like this (see below), it means that all of it is part of the default dimension text which you have never EVER been able to edit, only replace, in ALL previous version you've ever used and this one too, and future ones from your 2019 variant.

What you see is what someone created a PREFIX using the DIMPOST variable before they placed it. It was a one time use, it is no longer active in your oddly named dimstyle STANDARD0$.

Looks to me like you or someone did a copy/paste from another drawing, this dimstyle's settings are not present in this file, in fact your posted file is the wrong UNITS setting for those dimensions as your dim text is bigger than that letter sheet size defined in the layout. Is this a school project? Or something else?

Now you know.

No it is not a school project. The example is extracted from a larger drawing and illustrates the problem quite clearly.
