Dimension Text Aligning to dimension lines but not any additional lines of text

Using Autocad 2022 on Windows 10.

When editing dimension text, the text becomes centered on the primary and secondary units, but any additional line is not centered properly with the rest of the text. This happens to both vertical and horizontal dimensions, however it's primarily an issue on vertical dimensions since it clips thru the extension line. How do I fix this?

Post your DWG file with both before/after dimensions in place please, lets see what you have set and edited.

Okay, I've edited down an existing file to my unedited dimension with the text, and then a copy of it that immediately realigns the text to just the dimensions. Same thing happens to the original dimension if I move it at all or touch it in any way.

If you change the setting of the text placement in the Alternate Units tab from "Below primary value" to "After primary value" it will work. The text slider must be used, not \X to adjust text

While this does fix the centering on the dimension lines, that is not the location that I want the secondary units. Technically I can edit the dimensions with ENTER to get them where I want them, but then this requires editing every single dimension instead of just those that I want to add an additional line of text to. Also I'm not sure what you mean by text slider, I just use TEXTEDIT whenever I need to add some descriptors to the dimension.

"slider" appears when you edit the dimtext to open the editor, the faint double-arrows at the top.

>>>... Technically I can edit the dimensions with ENTER...<<<
How are you adding the extra words exactly? Explain the process.

>>>... I just use TEXTEDIT ...<<<
Just double-lick on the dimtext, no need to start a command first.

I do mostly double click dimensions, but the dded should get me to the same place, always has in prior versions.

So for entering in the extra line of text, I've always gone like this: 1. Create point-to-point linear dimension, 2. Either double click or DDED, 3. Hit enter to go one line below my dimensions to enter my text, in this case "PROGRESSION"

And once I exit, it looks like my original problem image instead of my original correct image. It has only just started since using 2022, so I'm not entirely sure if there is just an option that I no longer have checked. The slider at the top and the other grips to stretch the textbox don't seem to help.

The solution above that changes the alternate units to after the primary, instead of below, does fix the dimension line from digging into my added text, but I want my alternate below my primary, and my additional text below that.

Thanks for the added info: see below, it looks like you need to report the problem to Autodesk through your Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/home/ (find and click on the ? icon), then either use the workarounds noted above or roll back to R2021 for now where the issue does not exist
