Dimension Flyout Still An Option?

Hi guys,

A relatively quick one today.

When we were first able to customize toolbars, there was a dimension flyout, the same as there is now in the standard section within the "Home" ribbon (correct term?).  I was able to copy this into the mini ribbon at the very top of the page, but the thing keeps disappearing on me.  Is it possible to add the flyout to my custom toolbar instead of the ribbon?   I know I can add the individual types of dimensioning to the toolbar, but I'm trying to save space, hence my wanting just the flyout so I can switch between the different types  whenever I need them.  And if so, where would I find it, as I'm only seeing the individual ones in the CUI menu.

Thanks,

MarkF

mini ribbon?
Are you actively saving your workspace with WSSAVE command after creating this item? It is required if you want to make it stick. Works here for everything I've added to the Ribbon and QAT.

Quick Access Toolbar?   Like I said, the mini ribbon...

To be honest, I don't recall if I was saving it, and now I know how to, thanks Pendean.

OK, so that established, where do I find it again and how do I put it there, through the CUI command?

Almost each and every "button", "flyout" and "pulldown" in the Ribbon can be moved to the QAT by right-clicking over it and selecting that option.

I don't know which dimension flyout you speak of, I type what I need with shortcuts, you'll have to think a bit harder about what/where that was an on which toolbar or Ribbon for which version/variant of AutoCAD.

All commands (not flyouts) are listed in the commands section of the CUI pop-up: flyouts and pulldowns are in their spots on the panels they reside it: all can be duplicated/copied/dragged/dropped to anywhere else you want them to be in CUI as well.

FWIW all the old-school toolbars are still there, you can turn them on/off in CUI command or with TOOLBAR command. Do you need help hiding the Ribbon and lighting those oldies back up again?

Thanks for the (extra) info, I think I've got it down to about as bare a minimum as I can for this job, showing the most usable space with minimum toolbars.  I'm also a keyboard user rather than pictured toolbars, but I'm trying to achieve one setup for use in the office and also for remote login - certain keys don't work remotely when you're in mid command, like the function keys (ortho, snap, etc.), but the onscreen buttons will, so...

I miss my old square screen monitor, these letterbox styles now don't allow me to see enough height per width ratio.

Thanks, found it, copied it and saved it in the QAT!

*tips hat* much appreciated Sir, you just made my day go a lot faster and a lot smoother!

Cheers!
