Dimension difference in z values

Dimension difference in z values

I have done a floor survey over a warehouse floor and have a 3m by 3m grid over the whole surface. The client wants to check the flatness of the concrete and I'm looking to show the difference in height or z value between each point. There are over 10,000 points surveyed and I have been calculating the difference in my head on the fly and changing text manually (after I created 00 text at centres between shots). Is there a simple way as if you were dimensioning a distance but to show the change in elevation??

These kinds of tasks are why AutoDesk built in programming languages to AutoCAD.  There aren't any built-in features that allow you to do this.  Time to either learn AutoLISP or keep doing it manually.

If I could not program, I would export the texts value and coordinates and edit them Excel.
If you sort the data according to your coordinates in Excel then you can calculate the required values.
With this result you have many options how to display the information in the file.
Create additional texts between the points or dimensions and override the dimension text etc.

Thats all possible with excel and scriptfile.scr (for create the new text with delta-Z value ).

( A program is "easy" to create, but it need the time it is need )

First: That not a plain grid of 3x3???

OffTopic: 1-3

1. Why are the points not positioned at the true Z height?

2. For this work you should use a BLOCK with attributes,
In the attribute, the Z position of the block reference is read out (automatically) via a title block.
-
3rd full version (not LT)
I would look for tools to create from point + text = block & attribute,
then use a tool to move the block reference to the Z height according to the text value.
Subsequently, a processing to let the attribute values (Z-height of block reference) be displayed automatically with a title block)
