dgn export fails to load in autocad 2016

Every time I try to export a DWG to DGN, it only goes as far as allowing me to name the saved file but never shows the DGN settings dialog box. It just locks up AutoCAD 2016, the only way to get out of it is thru task manager. I had been using this tool for some days with no problem and just this week this has happened. Any suggestions for a fix?? Thanks in advanc

What happened with your computer between when it worked and when it stopped working?  Windows update, virus/registry clean, etc? Is your software up to date?

Nothing happened to computer, I was using AutoCAD with no problems, then it seemed to stop working all of a sudden. I believe I did see that there is a SP1 update for AutoCAD 2016. But for it to stop working unexpectedly is very strange. I have done numerous searches on line and no where is this problem mentioned.

Hi @Anonymous..

Welcome to the community :cara_con_una_leve_sonrisa:

Have you retried the command in file that worked previously (and preferably to the same location too?)

Does it still work there?

No I did not retire command, as I tried using command in several drawings that had worked prior and now it has the same outcome of locking up AutoCAD.

I will try to see if going back to a restore point date when it was working does the trick. Thanks

After doing a repair on AutoCAD and even doing a re-install the problem persists. Trying to export DWG to DGN and then I do not get the export DGN Settings Dialog Box.

Hi,

>> the only way to get out of it is thru task manager.

Really, have you tried to start the command, define the filename and when the next dialog should appear have you tried pressing <ESC>? Does that bring you back?

If so it's just the dialog outside the visible area, you can go then the same way shown >>>here<<<.

Alfred,
That was exactly it! The dialogue box was outside visible area, thank you for the help on this.
