Detach is not working for the Data link for excels

I am trying to detach datalink, tables linked from the Excel, but it is disabled, and I can not detach the datalinks from the external references palette. These data links are no longer needed.

Change from the current list view to tree view by clicking on the tree icon in the upper right corner and see if those links are nested under an xref which requires you to open that xref to remove the link
