Deselection by Shift+Click not working

Anonymous
Not applicable

Used to be able to shift-left click to deselect an object from a selection group.

Most solutions are for Raster, Civil3D, or Map3D but I am only using vanilla AutoCAD so none of these work.

What does it do when you shift click? do you have PICKADD set to 1 or 2?

Currently when shift-clicking to deselect I get:

Select objects: <Cycle on>  <Cycle off>1 found (1 duplicate), 8 total

PICKADD is set to 2

are you holding the space bar when selecting the object?  That is the only way I can pull that kind of output
