deleting arrows

I am new to autocad but have been working with it for a few months. I am working with a drawing that has arrows that I can't delete. I don't know what else info to give to explain the arrows but would really like to get some help.

Welcome to the Autodesk forums

Can you select them? If so what does the Properties Palette say they are?  Might they be on a locked layer?

A screenshot, or a sample drawing containing these objects would be helpful.

Without seeing your drawing, two things come to mind:

1) Turn off the UCS icon arrows:  enter UCSICON at the command line and then enter OFF.

2) If the arrows are in your drawing, verify that the layer the arrows are on is unlocked.

I can select the lines and when I click properties, i get options:

general

- color

- layer

- linetype

- linetype scale

- plot style

- lineweight

- transparency

- hyperlink

3d Visualization

- material

I would send screen shot or the actual file itself but it's kind of sensative.

What does it say just above "General"  that will tell us what type of object it is.  Also, we don't need a screencap of the whole drawing, just the "arrows" and maybe the properities Palestte while the arrow is selected.

Another way to find out:  LIST command, pick one of them, and press F2 to get the text screen.  It will tell you what kind of object it is, as well as various other information about it.

When I click on the line, I then right click, go to properties, and the top box says, "ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY".

also, after clickingon the line, I type in LIST in the command line and then press f2 and it says

ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY Layer: "OBJECT 3"

                        SPACE: Model Space

Handle = 1a05e

dxf name:   AMDTNOTE

Class Name:    AMDTNOTE

Application Name:  acmsymBB

Product Description: Autocad Mechanical

company: Autodesk, Inc.

Very strange, usually deleting aec objects is not a problem, editing them is.

You probably need to install Mechanical Object Enabler for your autocad and see if it will let you delete that arrow.

Google search for mechanical object enabler, find the correct version of your autocad it will take you to autodesk web site.

Perhaps try copy/paste or WBLOCK everything except the "arrows" into a new drawing.

I found the file and installed it. Restarted autocad and still not able to delete.

The only way I can work around it is to copy and paste the entire drawing into a new blank drawing and overwrite the existing file, but I have to do that so often it would just be easier to know how to delete the arrow in the first place.

here is a screen shot

Have you ever tried a program called SuperPurge? I have it and it has purged and deleted objects that I could not figure out how to get rid of. If the drawings is not too sensitive and you would like me to try it, post a drawing and I'll give it a shot. I never tried it on a proxy entity, but it might work.
