DATAEXTRACTION gave me more than 8000 coordinates

I ve been trying to extract the data from points on the line (I used the MEASURE command to create points).

In the data extraction set up page, I chose the object as a point and properties as Position X and Y.

I selected 5 points on the line which the result should give me 5 coordinates but it suddenly gave me thousands of row.

If someone knows how to fix this, please notice me which part i ve done wrong.

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk Forum,

I suggest to install the latest updates and Service pack.after that if NO success please attache your drawing here as CAD file for testing.

Note: would you please finish all the procedure (page 8/8) and see if you got the same result.

Regards,

Imad Habash

Hi,

>> I selected 5 points on the line

Look to page 2 of the wizard, which option do you have selected (second/lower one would be the correct one, otherwise all objects are used for extraction).

Hi,

general rule of forums: Another issue, another thread!

65536 is the limit for microsofts .xls file format.

Workaround/solution:

Split your job to 5 tasks

Or use another tool to extract your information,

is can be a faster and smarter way

and by using .xlsx.

Or use another fileformat which allows more rows.

Have you tested .csv?
