Data linking text scaling issue

Hello,

I have been having a strange issue that seems to of cropped up on 2 peoples machines out of 16.

We use excel data tables using excel formatting in AutoCAD with a text Kalinga that is similar to 2.5mm RomanS (the text is native both to excel and AutoCAD).

The issue is that 14 machines can use exctractions and create tables with 2.5mm text. The other two create the same size tables with exactly the same settings but with text size 1.7639mm.

The text shrinks to 1.7639mm even if they update the data links from an existing table that was 2.5mm text created by a different machine.
To get the table back to the correct size they need to be updated on the original machine.

The size of the tables are retained the correct size as per the excel page on every machine.

We need to use excel formatting to keep the tables the same widths and to use concatenation on columns. I do not want to use paste-spec as the table links need to be broken to cancel down to dumb tables once a job is complete.

Everyone is running version M.49.0.0 AutoCAD 2016 with Default profile set.

Hope someone can help, Thx

If you check the settings for the text style that is being used on the 2 machines,, is there a value stored for height, or is it zero?

Ah sorry, just found a mistake that could redirect your thinking and I cannot edit the original post

The issue is that 14 machines can use exctractions and create tables with 2.5mm text. The other two create the same size tables with exactly the same settings but with text size 1.7639mm.

Its not extractions its a ranged data link table that directly represents what is on the Excel sheets.

"If you check the settings for the text style that is being used on the 2 machines,, is there a value stored for height, or is it zero''

Should that matter? as the size and formatting is all done on Excel.

I made a drawing frame dwt that has all the predefined table and text styles for the two tables:

RomanS GA Table ON (using Kalinga on Excel, as it looks like RomanS when transfered to AutoCAD when data linking)

The text style on this table in AutoCAD is set as standard using standard text. This has to be the case when using Excel formatting otherwise you get a generic text no matter the typeface you set.

&

RomanS Table OFF (using RomanS style locked to 2.5 used for the data extraction from the Excel page that uses AutoCAD styles. This style is locked and greyed out in the table edit screen as it should be). This table style works fine on every machine.

We investigated the issue during quiet time in the office and found a solution... it was all down to a windows based display setting. I will be emailing to inform Autodesk about the compatibility crossover of windows display options disrupting AutoCAD functionality.

Set your pc's display settings to 1080bp and the scaling to 100% then restart your computer. Not sure why, but it affects autocad's datalink settings.
