Data Extraction - Select Objects

Good day

I am needing to extract several hundred points from AutoCAD to Excel. The AutoCAD file is attached for reference.

When using the DATAEXTRACTION command, I am able to complete pages 1 and 2 of the data extraction process ("Begin" and "Define Data Source"). However, after selecting the points in model space using the "Select objects in the current drawing" option, there are no object shown in page 3 ("Select Objects"). Screenshot attached for reference.

Please urgently advise. How may I complete the extraction of the points to Excel?

Many thanks

Sam

Are you looking to extract the x,y,z locations of each of your blocks to Excel?

Hello @sam_wegener

What is it, bathymetry? Coastline?

Is this a survey and was it originally drawn using Civil3D?

If you are trying to create a surface, then you'll need to disclose the location so an appropriate coordinate system can be assigned.

Hi Sam,
Thanks for posting your drawing.
Those are all "Anonymous" Blocks. Use Command UNANONALL in this LISP to convert them to regular blocks named TEMPXXX. Then you'll be able to use Data Extraction.

Hi Imad,
I learned something new on this thread. EXPLODE Command didn't work before with Anonymous Blocks. It sure does now. But there's a problem. Most of the Blocks in Sam's drawing explode into AutoCAD points. But 1835 of the Blocks explode into 2 lines. (+) So on those 1835 blocks you'll want to use UNANONALL Lisp to convert to regular blocks. Then Data Extraction will quickly pull all XYZ's from the drawing. XLS file attached.
