Data Extraction: Select Objects referred in a Cell

Hi All,

So I am a beginner in Data extraction Tables. I am using it to find areas of some polylines in the drawing.
Sometimes I see odd numbers in the table and I want to find out which polyline it refers to.
Is there a way to select that object from the table?

Thanks,

HI @stingers80-cgarchitect

I usually create a FIELD that grab the polyline information and capture the field information using Data Extraction.  If you want to attach a sample file I am happy to demonstrate this for you.

Sorry, I clicked the wrong button and it flagged the solution as accepted.

My problem is that there are a lot of things I want to check in the drawing like if the areas are correct, if the polyline widths are correct.

There are a lot of objects which I don't want to create a field for them individually (takes time . I could just check their properties one by one)

Data extraction table is a very good thing as I can sort stuff in it based on layer and I can see any strange thing going on. The problem is that when I see something strange I can't find it in drawing. I don't know if Object ID can be useful or not.

Ideally I want something like schedules in Revit when you can select object from the schedule.

Thanks,

Hi @stingers80-cgarchitect,

I believe I understand for what you are asking. I suggest that we move this thread to the customization forum to see if you can get more suggestions there. I have seen this question before and there might be some answers there.

Please let me know if you would like me to move the thread
