Data Extraction: Data Link: Data Matching

Good Morning.

We are experiencing some problems when certain end users are utilizing a data extraction template that I have set up. This problem is not global. When they get to the Data Link > Data Matching section, the "Name" field in not in the "Drawing data column:" list.

We can clearly see it on Data Extraction - Refine Data (Page 5 of 8) page in the background (See attachment), it's just not showing up in the Data Matching section, in the "Drawing data column:" list.

Why is that?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi @Anonymous,

I have experienced this a couple times myself.  Is it possible to share a small dataset with me so I can test on my side?

You indicated that not all users are seeing this behavior.  Can you explain the difference in their configuration vs one's where it does not work? Are they using the exact same version of AutoCAD and Excel?

Were some AutoCAD installations migrated and others not?

Attached are the following three:

  1. BDC_TEMPLATE.dxe: this is the data extraction template that everyone is using -  Icannot attach this file. I can email it to you if you need it.
  2. Linden_NJ_L01.dwg: This is the drawing file that the dxe template is being used in. The Name field (when i get to the Data Matching section) is not showing up in this file.
  3. BDC.xls: The Master Data Set

Everyone on the team is on the same version of AutoCAD.

Everyone is linking to the same XLS file (the one attached).

The issue is NOT file dependant.

I've also tried deleting the Data Link, that's in the Linden_NJ_L01 file, and making a new one. That didn't work either.
