I am trying to model a table in cad but when I render it, the curved lines and surfaces appear angular even though It appears curved in the model.

Model;

Cad issue 2a.JPG

Rendering;

Thank you to anyone who can help,

Hi,

it would be great to know which type of objects you are using.

A good start would be to raise the value of system variable FACETRES (>>>details<<<).

I am using objects that are un-grouped and not added to a block. I tried adjusting the "FACETRES" value but nothing changed. I think the issue has more to do with the rendering than the model itself.

Hi,

>> I am using objects that are un-grouped and not added to a block

3d_solids or surfaces or meshes or poly-meshes or extruded polylines, extruded splines, ...?

>> adjusting the "FACETRES" value but nothing changed

Can you please show us the drawing + let us know which version of AutoCAD you are using?

These are the results I had when I rendered your drawing with _FACETRES set to 0.1 and 0.5 respectively. It did require me to restart Autocad to have the changes take effect. I normally never have to render, so I don't know if that is normal Autocad behaviour.

You can also find the _FACETRES under the _OPTIONS window in the display tab.
