CURSORSIZE set to 100 causes pickbox to show crosshairs inside.

When I set my system variable, CURSORSIZE = 100 i.e. fills the screen, the crosshairs appear inside the pickbox - NOT what I would like.  When the CURSORSIZE is anything less than 100, the pickbox appears empty as desired.  See pictures:

How can I have CURSORSIZE = 100 and also have an empty pickbox?

Hi,

which version of AutoCAD are you referring to?
AutoCAD 2020 and CURSORSIZE set to 100 looks as that (the mouse arrow symbol comes from the screenshot software):

And how about CURSORSIZE 99?

Set your cursor size to 99 and call it a day, its the best you can get.

2019 here has the empty box when crosshairs are set to 100.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

If you're like me, and very picky about how you're drafting, you'll know I can't do that Smiley Tongue

I had been drafting with cursorsize 100 for over a year and all of a sudden this popped up.. I can't go to 99!!

Hi,

>> I can't go to 99

What is the reason about that?

BTW: did you install AutoCAD 2016 now as new system or what changed?

I very much prefer the 100 size - it seems like this should be a solvable issue and so I would rather solve than compromise.

I haven't changed anything - have been using the same install for over a year. I think it may have happened after some object was mistakenly placed in a Z coordinate (I am using 2dwireframe)

Hi,

It is solved, in newer versions of AutoCAD, I have tried it now with 2017 as well as 2020, @RobDraw has tried it with 2019, so in newer versions it works as expected.

Maybe you have not installed all updates for AutoCAD 2016, I can't try 2016 currently.

>> I haven't changed anything

Well, have you restarted AutoCAD, your workstation, have you tried this in a new drawing?

I just figured it out:  for some reason it had to do with the 3D Crosshairs - it was unchecked before, I checked it, and the crosshairs in the center of the pickbox went away.  I have no idea why or how this works, I never work in 3D, and I don't know when or how it became unchecked.
