That may be the kind of thing that will be fixed by turning off Hardware Acceleration.  GRAPHICSCONFIG command, or in the status bar:

Hi @Anonymous,

Some customers saw this happening after a Windows 10 update.  I believe it has been remedied in later updates.  What is your OS? Can you check to see that all available updates have been applied?  Please also check to see that your graphics card driver is current (from Mfr site), and that you have updated your AutoCAD 2018 from the Autodesk Desktop App or from your account page.

Hardware acc is off. AutoCAD 2018 has only been on my new computer for a month or so, all updated. Do not have this issue with other autocad versions I have.

Not sure of graphics card (or how to check) but this computer is an upgrade from last one and I had not this issue, our company is very good at keeping our computers up to date as we use many autodesk programmes and rely on fast computers.

Hi @Anonymous,

Please type WINVER at the Windows command line.  Then start AutoCAD and type ABOUT at the command line. Lastly, please provide a screen capture of the GRAPHICSCONFIG window.

Provide me please with this information so I can see what other steps might be possible.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the images.  The OS and AutoCAD appear to be is current but there is 2018.1.2 available and I suggest that you perform this update.  I do see though in the GRAPHICSCONFIG, that AutoCAD is not utilizing DirectX 11 and that your display driver is also old.  Please try the driver located here and see if reinstalling DirectX 11 will help.
