Only happening on a certain dwg, copied and pasted into a different dwg and it works temporarily.
Steps taken on the 2nd drawing file - audit, purge purge regapps, and re-saved opened and still having the issues.
I have also installed autocad 2019, to see if that fixes the problem it doesn't. I uninstalled it.
So sometimes it works fine, then randomly in the middle of working it just stops working. Cursor becomes jumpy and laggy, and of coarse Snap is always set to off!
Restarting computer sometimes helps but that doesn't solve the problem every time I need to restart in the middle of the day doesn't make sense.
I have 16gb of ram installed and have been using the same machine for 3 years without a hiccup till recently.
john.vellek has edited your subject line for clarity: Cursor jumping and sluggish

Turn of snap (F9) next time you see the problem and see if it goes away. You are probably toggling it on/off.
Or go into GRAPHICSCONFIG command and turn off hardware acceleration and see if the problem stays away all day.
There is no problem with your posted file here but I'm not going to be spending half a day in it like you will.
I am pretty diligent with keeping my snap off. If I could reusable it permanently I would.
Hardware acceleration has been toggled on for ever, however I tried to toggle it off and see if it helps but it doesn’t.
I figure that there is no problem with the file, it has to be a computer related issue if I am not mistaken. I open other files and the behavior doesn’t exist. This can drive someone nuts!
Any other advise would be appreciated.
After moving and making changes to the document I published it and the symptoms came back. I think thats the culprit, any advise?
Is there something I can purge or attempt to preform after PUBLISH command is used.
Hi @asafzangi,
I can't think of anything in Publish that could cause this issue. I suggest that you first use SYSVARMONITOR to see if any variables are getting changed during your drawing session. You might want to focus on OSNAP, SNAP, Grid, preview, etc. variables.

I have toggle between publishing in background and there is no difference, I prefer to not publish in background seems a bit faster so I stuck with it for the past year or so.
So this morning I came in with a fresh head and decided to copy over the drawings to a new template file, i was able to work through all my changes in model space and get it ready for publishing (on our 5th revision).
Once I finished the changes I went to my 1st sheet and changes the title, name and description of the drawing, then went back to model space for a second, once I flipped back to model space the cursor started jumping around and acting irregularly. I didn't even get as far as PUB and the issue came up again.
In the file I have attached I use this title block through all my drawings and this is the first and only one to cause a problem with the mouse jumping around. I am re-attaching my rev 5 file to see if anyone can come up with something other then I am crazy.
Hi @asafzangi,
Try turning off the Grid and turning off snap to grid. I am having no problems in your file.

@john.vellek have grid on and snap off. Here's a quick video of the problem: https://photos.app.goo.gl/ZKa4igj2gfnoeUL78 i am moving my mouse smoothly.
Hi @asafzangi,
Please try turning off the grid. In your video it appears that your cursor is "jumping" at a fixed interval.
Please also try unloading the PDF. I do not have that xref so I can't test if that is part of the problem.
@john.vellek unloaded the XREF as per your suggestion, and shut off the grid, same issue here is a new video showing them done as your suggestion: https://photos.app.goo.gl/YoMkV2z5vjYhZdny7
By the way does the video help any?
Hi @asafzangi,
Please try recording this in a Screencast. Your last video is broken.
Did you try using the Sysvarmonitor as I suggested previously?
Have you tried turning off Hardware Acceleration in GRAPHICSCONFIG?

I have sysvarmon on, nothing has prompted a change since I had it on yesterday.
Here si the screen cast you requested: https://autode.sk/2Oy3pED
Toggling hardware accel helps but is that a permanent solution? It is still pretty jumpy.
I also updated my graphics cards drivers to the newest available I am running a GeForce 770
Hi @asafzangi, Thanks for the video. Your Graphicsconfig window shows that you have the most current driver installed but it does appear that turning off hardware acceleration improves the issue.
Your graphics card is not on the certified list which makes this a bit harder to remedy. Have you tried rolling back a driver version or two to see if that helps?
It would also be interesting to see if this issue happens in AutoCAD 2019. Are you willing to download and install a Trial to see what happens?
@john.vellek funny you asked about ACad 2019, I just uninstalled it yesterday cause I thought that was the culprit. It was happening there as well. I have not tried to take the drivers back, I am not sure how to start with that but I can try will let you know how it goes later today.
The kicker for me is its happening only with this one file, I am working on a variety of other projects and this issue has not come up yet.
Hi @asafzangi,
If this is happening only in the one file, try copying the model contents to a new file and then use DesignCenter to import the layouts. This should give you a complete new drawing. It would be good to see if the problem remains in the new file.
Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question.
@john.vellek Can you point me in the direction of how to initiate DesignCenter, will gladly give it a try.
HI @asafzangi,
You can find the DesignCenter on the ribbon if you select the Insert tab. You can also start it by using ADC at the command line.
Once you have it running, you can browse the contents of the existing file. Go to the layouts and drag them into your new file.

@john.vellek we don't even have to go that far, a simple copy paste of my model content into a newly opened template file has created the same issue again. Here is the screen cast. https://autode.sk/2OxOKcK
Hi @asafzangi,
Please try the attached file. Make sure that when you enter modelspace that you toggle Snap off using F9.
