Cursor disappears when changing layouts

I have a small annoyance on 2015 and am curious if other have had it happen. It is more likely to happen in a drawing with many layout tabs. Typically, when switching from Model to a layout tab or from one layout tab to another, the cursor will be the typical crosshairs when you move the cursor into the drawing area. Click on a tab, move the cursor above the tab and it will be crosshairs with the open box in the middle. Every so often (maybe 25% of the time), I don't get the crosshairs. Instead, it stays as the typical mouse arrow that it becomes when you hover over a layout tab and I need to click once in the drawing area to get rid of it (escape doesn't get rid of it), at which point it acts like I tried to select something. It can happen going from a layout tab to Model space also. Seems to possibly have something to do with regenerating the layout because I did notice that if I click on a tab once, get the odd arrow, click on a different tab and then go back to the first tab, that first tab now has the crosshairs instead of the arrow. I tried all 3 "Layout Regen Options" and nothing makes a difference.

Anyone else experience this?

Sounds like a graphics card issue: http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Mouse-c...
Turning off LINESMOOTHING and/or LINEFADING in 2015 seems to help others.

if none of the above, then wait for other tips: this issue has been around for a very long time and not unique to 2015.

Thanks for the link, but none of those worked (I didn't reinstall the video drivers yet). I already have linesmoothing and linefading off. I notice that the link mentions that 2013 did not have any of the issues and I found that to be true. Another way to get rid of it is to simply click on the same layout tab again. It's like the click didn't "take" even though it switched tabs and you need to click one more time.

I've had issues at times in 2014 where the cross hairs will just disappear.

I've found that I can switch back and forth between modelspace and paperspace to get them to reappear.

I will try this idea next time to see if it works for my issue.

It would save time when you are in a hurry.

I'm having the same issue now that we installed 2016, I don't understand what the glitch is but clicking on the tab again solves the problem as does simply using ctrl pageup/pagedown
