Crosshair during active command

Crosshair during active command

AutoCAD 2021. This is as simple as they come, I'm sure. I have crosshairs displaying when a command is active. How the heck do I turn that off?

Thanx in advance.

Hi @DaveFuller,

Can you clarify or provide a screen shot showing what you would like to turn off?

All the best,

Issuing LINE Command. Middle button for osnap menu, "e" for endpoint. the pickbox appears and the crosshairs should disappear until I select the endpoint.

Sheesh, I couldn't have been more vague before...

Hi @DaveFuller,

That's interesting, I don't think I am not familiar with this feature. I tested through all the Options and the Osnap settings, but did not find any that did this. I can see how it would help with the selection process, though.

It sounds like the a white pick box (without crosshairs) shows when in a command until it encounters a snap point, and then the pick box turns to green, is this correct?

Which version were you able to do this in previously?

All the best,

Thanx, Cheryl.

No, not quite.

This is after the osnap was selected, but nothing selected yet. I would expect a pickbox sans crosshairs. Is that a little clearer? It's driving me nuts, I keep thinking I not in a command.

You get the pickbox without crosshairs in object selection for editing commands, but not in drawing commands.  I don't recall it ever working as you describe in that situation.

Thank you for the response. This is not what I'm experiencing... this time. Yup, my cursor and crosshairs disappear completely from time to time. I'm talking about the crosshairs remaining when a command is active and an osnap has been selected. The crosshairs should disappear at that time, leaving only the pickbox.

To clarify. No running osnaps active (OSMODE=0).

Run the LINE command, initiate the 'ENDP object snap, then you expect the cursor lines to vanish, leaving only the pickbox?

Here is 2014, cursor still there.

The cursor never disappears, in this scenario, in any version I can test.

Crosshairs, not cursor. In your configuration it may be so. I did not make this up. I am accustomed to the crosshairs disappearing for a command osnap.
